Andrew Firestone, former star of the hit show, The Bachelor, supports numerous organizations on the Central Coast that lend aid and support to children and families. He is the founder and principal of StonePark Capital and lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, Ivana, and their three children.

Grateful Gatherings began in 2013 when Donna and her family saw a 10-year-old named Ayisha on the local news talking about being homeless during the holidays. Donna connected with the family and delivered Christmas dinner and presents. A few months later, Ayisha’s family was placed in a new apartment but had nothing to furnish their new home… nothing! Donna emailed 20 friends; within four days, Ayisha’s family had enough furniture and household items to set up their new home and new life.

Grateful Gatherings has turned into a vibrant, close-knit, and dedicated community of volunteers, donors, and corporate partners who help furnish homes of families transitioning out of homelessness or crisis, including single mothers, foster children, and military veterans.  As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Grateful Gatherings specializes in connecting volunteers, donors, and corporate partners with families who are transitioning from homelessness and crisis. Poverty does not end when a family moves into a new apartment, so Grateful Gatherings donates household items (new and secondhand) and new mattresses to local families who deserve a safe, warm, and comfortable home.

Lamorinda Gives Back Delivers a Big Win for Las Trampas

On May 20th, Lamorinda Gives Back (LAMA) hosted the inaugural Mariachis andMargaritas spring fundraiser.  The festive event was at capacity and complete withmariachi band Reyna y su Trio, catering by Maria Maria, cocktails by Lost Republic and Dulce Vida, and of course the inimitable mascot, 'Hot Notes' the llama.
The event generated over $5,000 for Las Trampas
"Las Trampas is a remarkable organization with great leadership who make real differences for Lamorinda residents on a daily basis," said LAMA President Brian Britton.  "We at LAMA are grateful for the support from our members, vendors, and the attendees from across the east bay who participated at this event and helped raise money for this worthwhile cause."
With "Success Beyond Disability" as their guiding principle, Las Trampas supports adults with developmental disabilities to discover their capabilities and to lead full lives in their homes, at work, and in the Lamorinda community.  Specifically, the money raised at this event will help Las Trampas overcome funding challenges and execute on exciting opportunities.

Las Trampas is sincerely thankful for the efforts of Lamorinda Gives Back. Mariachis and Margaritas was a fantastic event and certainly a reflection of the energy and commitment the organization has for championing our community. We truly appreciate LAMA’s Director of Philanthropy, Cole Feinberg, for identifying and determining Las Trampas as the beneficiary of this event. We are extremely enthused about this newfound and ongoing partnership,
— Daniel Hogue, Executive Director of Las Trampas
